Spring Rising Retreat – Llanberis

Our Spring Rising retreat in Llanberis truly felt like the beginning of Spring.

We couldn’t quite believe our luck with the weather. Clear, crisp skies greeted us each morning, with a light frost and mist lifting slowly from the lake, followed by warm sunshine through the day. It felt like a real shift of season - the mountains waking, the days stretching, and something gently turning towards the light.

Our Spring Rising yoga retreat took place in Llanberis, in the heart of Snowdonia (Eryri), where mountains, lakes and wide skies create the perfect setting for rest, reflection and reconnecting with nature.

Yoga, nature, creativity and sauna - the perfect Spring Retreat!

Many people arrived feeling tired, worn down or a little burnt out after the long winter months. Over the course of the weekend we practised yoga, explored sound and mantra, spent time in nature, got creative, and shared good food and conversation. By the end, people were leaving recharged, inspired and glowing.

Our practices took inspiration from the season itself - honouring the stillness and holding patterns of winter, while slowly inviting the body and mind back into movement and possibility. We enjoyed mountain-inspired meditations, a steady walk towards the peaks surrounding Llanberis, and nourishing movement practices to awaken the body while calming the mind.

A long, evenly paced walk around the foothills of Yr Wyddfa - a precious day of light and warmth!

A highlight was our creative session with Angharad from Create Space Yoga Sound, who guided us through playful block printing and collage - an exploration focused on curiosity rather than perfection. She later joined Helen to offer a deeply restorative relaxation and sound healing session.

A colourful and playful creative session included block printing and collage working with the mighty fern leaf.

The scenic sauna and cold water dip in Llyn Padarn was another memorable moment. What began with a little trepidation quickly became a shared adventure, with many staying far longer than they expected - and some brave souls venturing into the 6°C water.

As one participant, Pam, shared afterwards:

“Just to say thank you for a fabulous weekend – we laughed, we cried, we met friends old & new, we walked in nature, we had amazing yoga & sound bath sessions & ate amazing food! We did activities that we had never done before & loved the feeling of accomplishment. All thanks to you & Dave. Love & best wishes Pam xx”

A special thank you must also go to Dave, whose care and attention in the kitchen kept everyone nourished from dawn until dusk.

With the Spring Equinox just around the corner, it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on what in our lives is calling for balance - approached with care, curiosity and a renewed sense of possibility. Gratitude to those who joined us for this beautiful retreat, we’re already sowing the seeds for Spring 2026.

Our next retreat takes place May 1–4, a long weekend in the mountains with more yoga, nature, creativity, sauna and deep rest.

Once again we were able to share the pamper kit by UpCircle Beauty and we also enjoyed a seasonal loose leaf tea sample from our friends in Marple The Teapot leaf Teas Company - our heartfelt thanks.
