Carrying the feeling of May Mountain Rest 2026

Beltane Yoga Retreat in Llanberis: Yoga, Nature and Deep Rest in Eryri

There was something particularly special about gathering together for the long May Bank Holiday weekend in Llanberis, in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), over the Beltane bank holiday weekend for our spring yoga retreat.

As the season begins to shift towards summer, we spent the retreat exploring themes of renewal, possibility and lightness, gently, through yoga, in nature, rest and connection.

On the evening of 1st May we marked Beltane with candlelight meditation and quiet reflection, considering what we might be ready to let go of and what we might welcome into the months ahead. While many people spent the bank holiday decluttering their homes and making trips to the tip, we joked that this retreat was our own version, an opportunity to release tension, stress, worry and mental clutter.

Across the weekend our guests enjoyed gentle yoga and somatic practices suitable for all levels, mountain walks in the beautiful landscape surrounding Llanberis, sauna and cold water therapy, nourishing home-cooked food, sound healing and plenty of time to rest deeply.

Many would find themselves sat by the fire reading a book or making some notes based on their reflections of being on retreat. Whilst around the table we would gather for conversation and meaningful connection over the most incredible plates of food.

There were moments of peace and quiet, followed by moments of laughter and friendship. During the weekend we were informed that one day was International Naked Gardening Day, and the other International Laughter Day!

Day retreat guests and evening sound bath attendees also joined us, helping to create a warm, supportive and uplifting atmosphere throughout the weekend.

“I'm just home from a weekend yoga retreat and have had an amazing time, can't wait to return. It was great to slow down and let someone else look after me. The food was absolutely unbelievable. All meals and snacks included and every single one tasted fantastic. The house is really cosy, my room was great and the bed comfy.

We were so well looked after and did absolutely loads but felt so relaxed. The yoga was gentle and suitable for everyone. There's no pressure to join in everything but I did! We went for walks, had an amazing soundbath and a brilliant Indian head massage, the sauna and wild swim was brilliant. Most of all I feel really nurtured and that was exactly what I needed.”

What more can we say! Thank you for your lovely words!

Beltane is celebrated with yellow foods - this lentil and rice dahl formed part of our own Beltane celebrations!

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the retreat what it was.

A special thank you also to our generous sponsors, UpCircle Beauty and The Tea Pot Loose Leaf Tea Company, for contributing beautiful treats for our retreat guests.

If you’re looking for a yoga retreat in Snowdonia or a restorative wellness retreat in North Wales, we’d love to welcome you to Llanberis for one of our upcoming events later this year.
