Winter’s Calling - A Sense Of Calm

Our final retreat of the season at Llanberis Retreats arrived with a sense of calm, the kind that invites everyone to slow down and simply be. The atmosphere was so gentle that our cameras stayed mostly tucked away. It felt important to give people the space they needed to rest without the pressure of documenting the experience.

The still, calm waters of the Llyn Padarn. A beautiful reminder of the quietude of Winter.

Across the weekend, our practices moved between uplifting flow and quiet, grounding work. There was space to energise the body and lift the mood, and equal space to soften, restore and settle into deeper states of awareness. As always, the shifting season and the mountain backdrop shaped the rhythm of our days.

A muddy, refreshing walk around the lowlands.

Meals were warming and familiar - overnight soaked oats, corn chowder and a full-of-veg chilli made a welcome appearance. Time outdoors included peaceful walks and the much-loved sauna on Llyn Padarn, which felt particularly tranquil with pockets of sunshine around the lake.

Bringing some colour but also comfort, a warming corn chowder for lunch was a real highlight.

We’re especially grateful to Angharad for sharing her transformative sound healing session, and we want to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us. Your presence is what makes these retreats so meaningful.

A huge thank you also to our retreat sponsors: WoodSpring Company for their beautiful candles - a perfect reminder of winter light and the brightness within; Biomel for their delicious gut-supporting bars; and Valley & Peak for keeping everyone fuelled with their handy on-the-go coffee bags.

If you’re already dreaming of future pockets of sunshine, our 2026 retreat dates are now in planning. You can explore upcoming events here: 2026 Retreats and Events
